The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a data privacy framework that was issued by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) in 2019 for contractors working with the department. The CMMC is designed to protect classified data and improve the cyber security posture of the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) by establishing a common set of requirements that all contractors must meet.
