HOUSTON (August 8, 2019) – Calvetti Ferguson co-hosted a lunch and panel discussion with East West Bank on the Maquiladora Program.
The panel consisted of five industry experts with a variety of backgrounds including international tax accounting, commercial banking, foreign trade and tax law, IMMEX, engineering, and manufacturing. The panelists included Robert Katusak from International Assembly, Inc., Marile Rocha Flores and Eduardo Pol Maldonado from O&P Tax Consulting Group, Fernanda Ruizesparza from Haynes and Boone, LLP, and Esau Liu from East West Bank. The panel was moderated by Mario Garcia, Partner at Calvetti Ferguson and George Gonzalez, Partner at Haynes and Boone, LLP.
The discussion began with each panelist briefly describing their respective experiences as it relates to the Maquiladora Program. Panelists were then asked questions from the moderators regarding the logistics and qualifications for companies to participate. The discussion concluded with the audience asking questions to the panel of experts.
