Calvetti Ferguson takes pride in receiving the 2022 Bronze President’s Volunteer Service Award from the Houston Food Bank.
The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) honors those who positively impact communities around the nation through volunteering. The “bronze” is one of the levels one can earn in this award, indicating that 100-249 hours of service have been completed within 12 months. This award recognizes volunteers who put in the time and effort to contribute to solving challenges faced by many individuals in our nation.
The PVSA was founded by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation in 2003 to highlight and honor individuals that positively impact communities through their service.

The firm’s Connection Teams take part in volunteer activities throughout the year. The Houston office chose the Houston Food Bank to be the volunteer organization of choice for the 2022-2023 Connection Teams season.

The Houston Food Bank, whose mission statement is “food for better lives,” serves around 1 million people around the 18 southeast Texas counties to help provide nutritious meals to those who do not have the means to access enough food, amongst other necessities. While they distribute food through a network of over 1,600 community partners, they also help educate families by providing programs and services to help families accomplish long-term stability. These education programs and services are compiled with nutrition education, health management, and support secure state-funded assistance.
