Yesenia, a valued member of our team in San Antonio, has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in the field of accounting, earning this esteemed recognition from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
The Elijah Watt Sells Award, named after a trailblazer in the accounting profession, is presented annually to individuals who demonstrate exceptional performance in the Uniform CPA Examination. This award highlights the exemplary performance of young CPAs, showcasing their commitment to excellence and their profound knowledge in the accounting field. Each year, the AICPA honors a select group of high achievers who obtain a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the CPA exam, pass all four sections on their first attempt, and have completed testing that same year. In 2023, more than 86,000 individuals took the exam.
Yesenia’s recognition by AICPA is a testament to her exceptional skill set in tax, dedication to the profession, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Her journey in accounting began in Laredo, Texas, where she developed a strong foundation that has propelled her to this significant milestone. In addition to her recent award, she received an Accounting Excellence Award from TXCPA in 2021 and has generously volunteered her expertise with the IRS’ VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program.
