Houston, TX (May 4, 2016) – Calvetti Ferguson hosted its annual Energy Forum today, which featured a panel with U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and David Porter, Chairman of the Railroad Commission of Texas.

Each panelist brought a unique perspective to the table. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Chairman Porter: “There’s no way that renewables are going to produce enough energy to replace hydrocarbons.”
  • Congressman Brady: “We ought to be encouraging all types of energy…technology can help.”
  • Congressman Brady: “It isn’t a game-changer today, but long-term it will be,” on the lift of the ban on crude oil exportation.
  • Chairman Porter: “If the proposals go through, it will have a negative impact on the [railroad] commission,” on the proposals set forth by the Sunset Commission.
