Anneka and her daughter, Sienna.

Anneka was chosen because “Her work on our client was amazing,” wrote Jim Calvetti. “She was very professional and empathetic to client personnel to client personnel.” The project included:

  • Complex SEC reporting (Form 10/K over 350 pages), which was added to changes in the internal control environment.
  • New internal controls specific to the fresh start accounting.
  • New team members as our IT SOX consultants switched out.
  • A fraud investigation at a small subsidiary, which could have impacted our internal controls reporting.

We asked Anneka a few questions to see what made her the February GROWTH winner.

  • CF: What makes working at CF enjoyable?
  • AS: Having a team where we have each other’s backs and getting to experience the awesome growth of CAS from the very beginning.
  • CF: How has going from working in the audit practice to the advisory practice made you better at your job?
  • AS: Well, I started my career doing consulting work. Back then, it was hard to consult when you were a newbie straight out of school. I would say getting audit and technical accounting training made me a lot more credible with my clients and better consultant at that.
  • CF: What have you learned during your time at CF that would you pass down?
  • AS: It is not just getting to the answer, but how you get to it that’s most important.
  • CF: Outside of work, what makes you the happiest?
  • AS: Being Mommy to my eighth month old, Sienna. She is growing so fast!
  • CF: What’s your favorite type of food?
  • AS: Seafood, especially during crawfish season!
  • CF: What’s your favorite type of music?
  • AS: I keep a playlist of all my favorite hits all the way back from the 80s (don’t laugh) through current that I like to jam to. Keeps me nostalgic!
